Return of Opal
Two reissues on their way of Eno‘s Another Day On Earth and Brian‘s team-up with Peter Schwalm for „Drawn Fron Life“. It will happen on October 16. „Drawn From Life“ gets a new cover, a really beautiful cover. I did long interviews with Brian and Peter in those old days about these albums that will be available on Cd, Dl, and, for the first time, on vinyl.
Funny enough, before hearing all this, „Just Another Day“ (from „Another Day On Earth“, a fantastic song about better not missing the magic of the here and now, without any preaching undertone) had nearly made it as the closer of my final radio hour on Sep 24 at Deutschlandfunk.
In the end, I preferred „Spinning Away“ (for reasons of sequencing) and then again, I changed my mind one more time – and I am so happy that my long life at the radio will come to an end with a red cabrio strolling through the streets of Los Angeles!

Es gibt nur wenige Songs zu denen ich eine intensivere Verbindung habe als zu „Spinning Away“. Er hat zum Erscheinen mein Studium in harten Phasen begleitet und war 24 Jahre später der Soundtrack zur Geburt meines Sohnes. Das Ungewisse kann so hoffnungsvoll sein…

„Just Another Day“ ist ähnlich bewegend, mit jüngsten Erinnerungen belegt, über die nicht abschließend berichtet werden kann…😅
Auf jeden Fall wären beide Songs stattliche Würdigungen Deiner letzten Klanghorizonte gewesen, lieber Michael.
