Ein Hörspiel
1966 hat Julio Cortazar diese phantastische Erzählung geschrieben, die sich nun als ein rundum gelungenes Hörspiel des Deutschlandfunks entpuppt – mit einerm Quantum sozialer Utopie. „Das Feuer aller Feuer“ war, lang ist es her, der erste Band voller Erzählungen, den der Suhrkamp Verlag veröffentlichte. Mit seinem Gespür für das Surreale, für das Politische, und die Sehnsucht, nahm er mich von Anfang an gefangen. Sein Roman „Rayuela“ gehört zu den existenziellsten Leseabenteuern meinen Lebens. Er kehrte übrigens, kurz vor seinem Tod, noch einmal auf die Autobahn zurück, als er mit seiner Geliebten losfuhr, ganz real, von einem „Raststattabenteuer“ zum nächsten. Beide wussten, dass sie bald sterben würden. Also liessen sie sich noch mal auf das Leben ein, auf vollen und leeren Autobahnen, fernab der touristischen „power spots“, mit einem geschärften Bewusstsein und fein austariertem Humor. „Die Kosmonauten auf der Autobahn“ – Julio Medem sollte es mal verfilmen!

It’s one of my favourite books of all time. By the time I read it, well, in the last century, I had a girlfriend who nearly went furious when I was praising the book. – „How can these two, under such devasating circumstances, move through those shitty places instead of visiting the great wonders of mankind like The Pyramids?“
