“Everybody Loves A Train“
Richard Williams hat eine wunderbare Sammlung voller „train songs“ zusammengestellt, die ihr nebenan, in „The Blue Moment“ aufrufen könnt. Bis jetzt haben sich 66 begeisterte Hörer gemeldet und eigene „Train Songs“ beigesteuert. Ich hätte einen „im Gepäck“, der da nie auftaucht, der in meiner privaten Zugsongsammlung stets als erster Fahrt aufnehmen würde. „Love At First Sight“ (HIER, aus dem Album „Embrace The Herd“ von „The Gist“) ist nicht einfach ein Song über die Einfahrt eines Zuges in den Bahnhof, er beschreibt (allein in den Klängen) die wundervolle Welt des Verliebtseins in einer Atmosphäre, in der ich manche meiner Stunden des Schwebens gespiegelt finde. Es ist wohl der unbekannteste aller grossartigen „train songs“. Beim Stöbern durch Richards Sammlung fand ich auch jenen traumhaften Song wieder, „Train In The Distance“, (bitte HIER draufklicken zum Anhören!), den ich damals in den Achtzigern, wie das gesamte zugehörige Album, sehr gern gehört habe. Aber die Platte kam abhanden, und seit dreissig Jahren habe ich nie wieder Paul Simons „Hearts and Bones“ gehört. Meine Erinnerungen an das Album sind sehr vage. Ich lausche diesem Lied, ich lese die lyrics – what a fine short story that is: „Everybody loves the sound of a train in the distance / Everybody thinks it’s true“. Ist das ganze Album so berührend?

Die freien Assoziationen des Train Songs Memory Games, wenn wir auf der Couch liegen und träumen. Lorenz, mir gehen jetzt gerade die Klänge durch den Sinn eines Codona Stückes von Codona 2 oder 3, ein Don Cherry-Stück, und natürlich die Mutter all meiner field recordings Platten, „Trains In The Night“.
