I am so happy to have discovered this English label. The CEO, Frances Castle, has opened up some gates that offer adventurous worlds. Sometimes tiny in size, sometimes a little ocean of sound. Another blue world. The label will be on our blogroll soon. When I took the vinyl out of the sleeve of Andres Wasylyk‘s wonderful „Hearing The Water Before Seeing The Falls“ (one of the musicians is Angus Fairbairn aka Alabaster dePlume), a little catalogue of Clay Pipe Music landed in my hands, and the words read like this: (m.e.)
Clay Pipe Music is a London based record label run by illustrator Frances Castle. It has released music inspired by: Green Line buses, Muriel Spark ghost stories, Hackney Marches, space travel, the approaching spring, Great Yarmouth, lidos, Welsh mythology, lost streets of London, lighthouses, Heresfordshire and deserted villages.

Ich habe in zwei der von Tommy erwähnten reingehört: flüchtiger Eindruck: wonderful.
Unser album of the month, das ist ganz gross, und ja auch Thema des Interviews.
Das Album von Andrew, das ich postete, liegt zum Deep Listening bereit….
Das sind ja beides Alben der letzten Jahre.
Ab jetzt werde ich mir jedes Album anhören, und hoffem Frances schickt mir das eine und andere fürs Radio:)
Anno 2025: da ist das album des Jahre vielleicht schon erschienen 😅 – das einsame Glück des Radiomachers beim Entdecken… die Alben von Jon, Anouar und Alabaster sind Anwärter, und sowieso, in meiner Welt, top 12.
