RIP Garth Hudson, The last man standing. Garth was the secret weapon behind the Band’s sound. His organ and keyboard playing, not to mention his accordion, sax and arranging skills, coupled with his vast musical knowledge, elevated the band’s sound, and was the glue that held it all together, but of course it was ultimately the synergy between all its moving parts that resulted in that unmistakable and paradoxically loose knit but at the same time, tight groove they alone could conjure.
