we‘ll meet twice in a lifetime (intro)
A little new series, maybe some flowworker or reader will add a chapter.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

We all know records that are regarded as masterpieces or really great albums, or albums with overwhelmingly positive critics or generally beloved albums of artists we normally love or like very much at least, albums that, well, well, you or me don‘t like at all. You were competely disappointed.
And if that has happened, such an album only leaves distant memories. What happens when we give such a work a seconds chance after eternities?
Maybe I start this series with a deep listening review of an album that came out in 1978 and disappointed me on first and only listening. What will happen now? Love on second sight, or same old story! Or something in between. Wait and wonder! In my case it is Ralph Towner‘s BATIK on ECM Records.
I give you some more personal examples. One is Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush regarded as a classic, a highlight of her career, a masterpiece of the 1980‘s. Years ago I tried to give it a second chance – honestly, i stopped after the third song – I don‘t get it, i don‘t like it at all. On the other side I was and am a huge admirer of her famous first album, and her two last studio albums. Interesting.

A list of albums following my line of merciless disinterest on first meeting:
ABC: Lexicon Of Love
Heaven 17: Penthouse And Pavement
Lou Reed: The Raven
Ralph Towner / Jack DeJohnette / Eddie Gomez: Batik
Keith Jarrett: Bridge Of Light
Scritti Politti: Cupid & Psyche 85
Tomita: Firebird
We‘ll meet twice.
